The railroad was an essential part of Kazubazua’s history. And local lore has it as the long trains would stop at Kaz station and bold smugglers would come out of their hideouts along Solisterras trails and secretly move their booty on and off the trains. And often get free passage in one of the boxcars. Liquor, cigarettes, ammunition, and notorious ladies of the evening were in high demand. In the 198os the last of the trains pulled out of Kaz and in 2004 the old train line was turning into an 80 Km bike path from Low to Maniwaki QC. (Snowmobiles and RV share the path in the winter months)
